Public sector reforms, brought about by the call for increased evidence-based decision making, has lead the way for more, and better public consultation.
At its most effective, consultation allows for real dialogue between individuals, groups and service providers with the aim of influencing decisions, policies and programmes of work.
Sound research methodology, clear marketing communications and the principles of audience development combine to form the basis of effective community consultation.
Building on research, evaluation and public consultation undertaken to support cultural sector projects and programmes, CDC is beginning to develop its consultation service for the wider public sector. With a genuine desire to see greater public engagement in decision-making, our approach is honest, clear and unbiased.
Christina has excellently driven forward a programme of consultation involving a diverse range of resident and stakeholder participation and has communicated strongly at many different levels. Christina is extremely personable, flexible and positive in and her willingness to “get stuck in” really shone through. Christina fully understood the needs of the different sectors and Partners involved, delivered on time/in budget and provided sensitive, relevant and thought provoking feedback at all times. Debbie Burton, Neighbourhood Regeneration Officer, Efford Building Communities Initiative, Plymouth.
CDC’s flexible approach means that we are available for one-off ad hoc projects or longer-term programmes of work. Christina’s network of associates enables a small consultancy to handle large-scale consultation work, bringing in PR, event management and communications campaign delivery skills as required.
